Small change.
Rares come out of the standard boxes constantly, so supply is huge and values are tiny. Most of the tier is under 1. The odd exception, like Dungeon, sits way above the rest and is really its own thing.
The name is left over from a much smaller game. Rares are not rare. You will pull several in an evening of opening boxes.
Nearly everything here is worth a fraction of a point. We list it all because people look it up, not because there is money in it.
There is one item in this tier worth real value and a long tail of items worth almost nothing. Check which one you are holding.
Rares are what your inventory fills up with while you are trying to get something better. That is genuinely their main job.

How rare trading works in MM2
Treat rares as small change. Filler that rounds a trade off, not something you build around. If a trade needs more than a couple of rares to balance, the trade is kinda not balanced. Add a legend instead.
Nobody is going to trade you anything good for rares alone, however many you send. The pile does not become valuable by getting bigger.
Use them for the last half point of a trade and nothing else. Anything more and you are padding.
If someone asks for a big number of rares, they are usually hoping the count distracts from the total. Add it up.
Clearing rares out of your inventory is not worth a special trade. Attach them to something you were trading anyway.

What are the supreme rare values in MM2?
The word covers two things. Supreme Values is the second community price list, and every card above carries its figure next to the MM2 one so you can compare them; the switch at the top of the grid decides which leads. "Supreme" is also older slang for the very top of a tier, and for rares that is Cane Knife at 525, followed by Dungeon at 125. This page is ranked by value, so those are always the first cards you see.
Do MM2Values.com and Supreme Values agree on rare prices?
Not always, and this page shows you where they part company. Each card carries both numbers and the percentage between them, so a rare the two lists disagree about is obvious before you trade it rather than during the argument. Wide gaps almost always sit on items that hardly change hands.

What does stability mean for an MM2 rare?
Stability is how steady the price has been. Stable and Doing well are safe to trade at listed value. Peaking and Overpaid for are short-term highs, good to trade out of. Recovering and Underpaid for can be smart pickups if you can hold for a while.
